The morning of Cailen's birthday; his special table spread. Cailen wanted a "surprise" party so I woke up early that morning and when he came up the stairs, I yelled "Surprise!!" He loved it, but this year he told me he wants his friends to surprise him, not just a surprise at breakfast. Haha,
One of his birthday presents, from his brother Jex.
Now for his birthday party pics! He had a superhero party and it was AWESOME! It was just a tad too windy, which made it hard to play some of the games. It was a Super Hero Training Camp and all the kids had to go through different training exercises and they all had a blast. Cailen was dressed up as Spiderman and Jex was Batman. It was fun to see all Cailen's cousins and friends come dressed up as superheroes too.
The Hulk Smash Game: Two teams stuffed their "Hulk" with balloons and whoever fit the most in, won! It was hilarious and the kids had a blast!
The winning team! And I gotta say, the spread those balloons out for pretty realistic looking muscles
My sister Heather was on Jex duty. He was being a pill most of the time.
Next game: Kryptonite Hot Potato! I played a Superman song on my phone while the kids passed around a green rock. They loved it and the kids who got out loved helping me stop the music.
Vaporize a Villain: balloons with bad guys on them were soaked with water guns! This one was one of my favorites!
Captain America's Lava Challenge: The kids had to cross the "lava" while holding a shield and wearing a mask. I thought it would be super easy, but it was actually pretty tough for a lot of the kids. Cailen even had to try again! So it was just tricky enough to be fun!
(loved this girl's superhero costume! Her mom made it for her just for this party! She made a Snow White one too for her other daughter, haha!)
Web the Bad Guy was Spiderman's contirubution to the training camp and it was the one game Cailen asked for. Well, he asked for a game like Jex's mustache game (which I have to post pictures of, dang!) and this was how we tweaked it for his superhero party
And the Pinata! One guess as to which superhero this game represented...Thor! I was stoked to find an Avengers pinata at Target for a pretty good price. It saved me from having to make a paper mache Thor's hammer...although that would have been pretty darn cool!
He got a little happier as the day went on :)
Superhero games + Superhero candy = Fun party!
They all got "Offical Super Hero" badges (this is my best pic showing the badge)
Cailen blowing out his bday cupcakes
Ok, so the happiness didn't last long. I think this had something to do with his cupcake. Who knows!
Cailen got his very own superhero costume from the cute girl I mentioned before. It came with wristbands too! Very awesome.
Afterwards the kids played on the park's playground for their "Flying Test" courtesy of Iron Man. Jex got to participate in this one.
My brother Ryan entertained the kids while they waited for their parents. Pretty sure Ryan was the bad guy and all the superheroes were after him.
Cute Gpa Davis time for Jex :)
It was a super duper fun party and I was so glad that I pulled it off! It was worth it and I'm so thankful for the internet too with the great superhero game ideas! Haha! My family helped a ton with set up and clean up and it was so great to see Cailen having a blast with all his cousins and his friends from preschool and church. I have to say, we had a ton of kids there and next year we are toning it down! But how do you say no to inviting so many?! It was hard so we just decided to invite them all! Any tips? :) Well, to anyone who still looks at this blog and mostly my sister Heather, hope you enjoyed!
Apparently I left a whole bunch of posts as drafts, including when Cailen turned 4! The audacity! I know. I will remedy that mistake as well as a few other fun events that have been overlooked. Get yourselves ready. It's going to be picture overload time!! :)

Jex wasn't being a pill, he was sick and being a trooper for his big brother! Poor baby!! :) You should have posted the "after" picture of them passed out in the car! haha
What a fun party! I love all of your cute ideas!
