Yup, a picture is always the easiest way to say it. I'm pregnant and expecting our 2nd little bundle of joy!! I am due Nov 19, so I am about 4 months along. I have thought often about typing up this post, but with limited internet use, no useful pictures of me showing off a baby bump or anything else equally as snazzy, and pure laziness, it just hasn't happened. But then I realized I didn't want to wait until I knew if it was a boy or a girl, or until I was like 7 months along or, agh, D-Day and poof, I have a baby. So I made a concerted effort to sit down and write this while I have some time.
It's a little crazy realizing we are going to have ANOTHER little one running around. Cailen is 3, he is going to be a big brother. I am going to have to lug a LOT of crap around. I have to go back to baby mode. Etc etc etc...But I am excited!! It's about dang time and really, none of you are probably all that surprised :)
We are excited and it has definitely been a different experience all around than with Cailen. One, I'm not working. Two, I have a child to deal with while feeling morning sickness. Three, I was sick alllllll day long for like 3 months so that sucked. Four, it's a little anticlimactic being pregnant because it's like "been there, done that" so I have to remind myself...whoa, this is a new baby, crazy, yeah! Five, my family lives here and gets to see me in all my pregnancy stages :) And many other reasons. But it is the same in many ways because it's not something that anyone can really explain. Yes, I'm a mom already, but I'm only a mom to one. That's not the same as two. And since every kid is different, who knows how it's going to be!?! So there is the same nervousness and excitement as I had with Cailen. I am excited to add to our family and have another little Barber bundle of joy to love! :) I'm 20 weeks at the end of June but sadly I can't get my ultrasound until JULY 20th because my ultrasound technician is going on a THREE WEEK VACATION right at the beginning of July. Grr. Oh well, I have to wait 9 months to see the cutie pie anyway, what's a couple of weeks to know if it's a girl or boy. Anywho, that's our big news and I wanted to share it with you all so that you could share in our joy and excitement too :)

Oh my goodness!!! I've been waiting for this announcement. CONGRATS!! Life with two has seriously been awesome. And that's even with Stone in his TERRIBLE 2s!

WOO HOO HOOOOO!!! Yay for babies!!! Congratulations, Val, especially since you picked the right time of year to have a baby (nice and cool, with not too much snow). I myself am due any second and am SWELTERING.
And by the way, NO ultrasound tech should EVER take a vacation. Inexcusable!!! Can't they find a stand-in? Or, heck, just hand you the wand? I'm sure with a bit of practice you could see for yourself who's in there. My goodness.
